Protection in falls, protection from wind and cold with easy ventilation when needed. When it turns extremely cold I just add a layer underneath and all is well. It does all this and feels like I am wearing a heavy jersey, no restriction and no discomfort. When it warms up during the day and comes time to vent, the sleeve removal almost always does the trick. They roll up nice and small to stow in my pack, and I continue on with it as a vest. I have been on many rides that it was necessary to remove AND reinstall the sleeve’s. The zippers are quality and easy to use, even for an impatient rider.
