The Secret!
More Power...Better Suspension...More Power...Better Suspension?
The question all dirt bikers eventualy ask.
What's better more power or better suspension?
Which will make me faster?
Which costs more?
Which is cooler?
What parts can I add myself?
Where can I find someone who knows what they are doing?
What's the secret to better overall performance?
The secret of course is balance. The right amount of power mated to a suspension that works smoothly for the type of riding you do. Sounds easy but of course riders are always chasing that perfect mix. Everyone has different ideas about how to get the most out of today's sophisticated bikes. The days of adding a pipe and a few clicks to a stock bike are long gone. The best solution, find someone that understands riding and will listen to your needs. You need someone that will work with you to find the power/suspension balance that best fits your riding style. Many shops have proclaimed experts that believe they know what is best for everyone. One size does not fit all. Here at MX43 we trust all suspension and engine work to SBB. Bucky has never failed us. If you need help call him at 916-910-3532.
I’m now on my fifth complete set of suspensions done by SBB (Suspension by Buck) A Honda, two KTM’s and two Yamaha’s. Prior to using SBB I used Factory Connection on a number of bikes. I was always very happy with Factory Connection they worked extremely well. But they were also very expensive to set up initially as well as the periodic servicing.
I would see Bucky at the tracks riding as well as working on others bikes, I also had several friends of mine who had been using SBB and recommended him. There were a number of reasons I had initially decided to try SBB, one he was local, he was willing to meet me somewhere more convient to me than him to pick up and return the suspension. He was always willing to meet me and help me test and adjust the settings to my liking. He would continue to work with me until I was satisfied. His pricing was very reasonable and the suspension worked well. You can’t really ask for more than that. I’ve recommended SBB to lots of other riders who as far as I know have had the same experiences I’ve had, if not I’m sure I would have heard from them. (You know how that goes)

I have been riding a recently acquired Honda 450x that was set up as my Baja pre run bike. It has modified suspension that works pretty well. I then busted out the KTM with SBB suspension to do some exploring and immediately remembered why I liked the KTM so well. The suspension was so plush and soaked up the ugly stuff I have been riding while looking for new trails, this made me realize the Honda suspension now requires a trip to SBB for some work to even come close to the SBB shod KTM.

My KTM 350 SXF comes with WP forks did have compression adjustment and one fork and rebound adjustment in the other fork. While these work good and have good bottoming compression dampening from jumps, they are not compliant mid stroke when landing or in stutter bumps.
SBB suspension services improved the forks by adding compression and rebound to both forks. Bucky is willing to go to the track with me and fine tune my suspension, front or back and make suggestions of setting changes.
